Weather Chases Me

When you grow up on Cape Cod, you don’t really have to chase Weather, because it comes to you. From the time I was born here in 1963 Dad and mom told me I couldn’t stop staring up at the sky. The sun & moon, birds & clouds, stars & rainbows, it was all love at first sight.
I started writing down the daily weather by about kindergarten.
My life really changed in 1974 when the the Dennis Yarmouth school system sent the entire fifth grade on a four night field trip to The Cape Cod National Seashore to admire our majestic coastline and learn all about the history and geology of the Outer Cape, and what an intrinsic role weather plays in everything that happens here.
My weather addiction really locked in there when I found out that Cape Cod is sort of a miracle of nature. When the glacier retreated 15,000 years ago, leaving this ever-changing spit of sand. No two days are the same.
Fast forward 24 years and I’m graduating from Lyndon State College, Vermont with a bachelor's degree in atmospheric science, the same class as Jim Cantore and Russ Murly and Tony Petrarca, and Weir Lundstedt, and so many other meteorologists from around the nation. Right after graduation I launched into a 35 year career as a broadcast meteorologist on television here in New England.
And now this ~ "The TK Weather Experience"
Inspired by our common passion for weather, we have a place to stand and share our experiences. Together, we will gather our weather stories, and weather forecasts ,and learn little more about meteorology every single day.
No matter how old we are, we can keep on learning. And that’s what we’re going to do here ~ together. I want to hear about your experience. I’m always going to share what I experience. We’re going to have live interactions. We’re going to have daily videos. My primary focus is on snow sports in the winter and surfing in the summer. But there’s a lot more than that. I have passion for all varieties of nature, from cloud types to bird songs, and I am also a worm farmer. You've probably already met our pets, rescue dog T-Rex and our Maine Coon Cats Mitt and Steve.
In a pursuit of passion, we constantly seem to be drawn to people who are like-minded.
If you’re reading this right now, and you made it to the last sentence, we are like-minded.
Let me know if there is anything I can do to make this website more suitable to you.
This is just the beginning. We have a great future together.
Weather was my hobby when I was young, then I made a living at it, now it’s my hobby again. But it would be nice to earn a little money while we’re here. If you have any advice on that, I’m all ears.
Pursuit of Passion...
Mother Nature serves us something new every single day.
Keep looking up ~ It's All Waves ~ Follow the waves.
Let's ride together.
Best Regards, Tim 'TK' Kelley

So glad I found you on YouTube, Tim. I've been a weather fanatic since a young age; as well. As a divorced mother of two sons; I watched NECN & the Weather Channel loyally. Now, as a grandmother; I'm on FaceBook; but at 7.9 decades, I'm a bit skittish with A.I. and my privacy. In 1994 thru 2001, I worked as Chick Knight's accounting manager/bookkeeper. We'd chat when you phoned him at Geo Knight & Co. Did you ever get to Ireland; for work? Keep up the great work, Tim. Keeping you in my prayers for success in your endeavors. Gram Pam Richards [Widdop] {graduate of Weymouth High School}.
Such a great origin story Tim, thanks for sharing. And when I say origin, I mean your personal journey and this cool web site that will indeed build a community of like minded people and weather buffs. As someone who has been a competitive cyclist most of my life...and ski bum...and mountaineer...weather is simply omnipresent 24/7. I'm immersed and work hard to learn all I can. Watching you on TV over the years and now with daily videos, it would be hard to know how engrained you are in my planning! I am really looking forward to watching this new site grow. Cheers my friend.
Nice start. Part timer on the Cape with my mom and dad '58-71. The Cape is a plus added to my respect for your forecasts and New England weather knowledge. As an aside, grew up as caddy and Jr. Golfer ON Bass River GC. So many names you knew. Walt Hewins,Ollie Hallet, there was your math teacher(sad have forgotten his name). The 40 Thieves, great 3-4pm $5bucker golfers from teens to retired guys. Hey good luck and as I said, nice start
